The American Battlefield Protection Program, a program under the WASO Cultural Resources, Partnerships, and Science directorate of the National Park Service, promotes the preservation of significant historic battlefields associated with wars on American soil through land use, grant programs and public education.
Qualifications: The applicant should be currently enrolled in a certified undergraduate or graduate degree program specializing in preservation planning, historic landscape preservation, historic open space preservation and land use, military/battlefield archeology, or military/public history. Applicants must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to perform a variety of tasks independently. Skills of problem solving and organization will be needed. GIS and database management abilities are preferred.
